About Carolina Rides Rentals
Carolina Rides Rentals rents eco-friendly transportation, including high-quality electric vehicles for short-term use. It is a sister company to Carolina Rides and runs as its own business, serving renters in Hilton Head and Charleston, South Carolina.
The business challenge
Carolina Rides Rentals needed a website of its own to keep rentals apart from the sales side at Carolina Rides. It had to go up fast to support the growing business. It also had to follow their designer’s desktop layouts and work well on both desktop and mobile. Speed and scalability mattered, and customers had to have a good experience.
What we did
We built a CMS-based website for Carolina Rides Rentals using the styles and design principles we set up on the Carolina Rides project. That kept the brand consistent, and we adjusted the core styling for the rental business. We did the product pages first to hit the tight timeline, and we updated the Carolina Rides site to send rental traffic to the new one. The contracted designer’s layouts became a fast-loading site that is easy to find your way around.
What happened
When Carolina Rides Rentals opened a second location in Charleston, we handled the expansion quickly and carefully. We restructured the navigation and built new layouts for Charleston rates and information, then fit them cleanly into the existing site. Because we had been on the site since the start, we also covered functional needs the original design missed, which improved the customer experience. Carolina Rides Rentals ended up with a fast website that scales with a growing business.
